Campaign Video Direction

The hero video for this campaign carried over the styling and lighting cues used across the photography stills. To elevate the ‘wet look’ concept and lean even further into our focus on the product’s hydrating formula, we utilised creative treatments like ripple-like light reflections, a screen of water droplets, and a series of close-up texture shots. 

Our video direction included a slower, almost rhythmic pace that paired dynamic, talent-focused shots with more tactile product moments. 

Shoot Logistics

With multiple new products releasing across the lip category in a short period of time, Nude by Nature approached us with the challenge of creating professional beauty photography and video for all three products in the most streamlined, cost-efficient way possible. 

Our solution was developing, producing and shooting all three campaigns in tandem, bringing them together into a single one-day shoot where our photography and video sets ran simultaneously. This involved a lot of logistical finessing and creative planning in order to keep everything running smoothly and ensure we captured all the necessary content in just one day. 

The Long Story Short Team developed three concepts that celebrated each product’s unique features – keeping each campaign distinct while maintaining a consistent brand feel across all three. We then cast the perfect hero talent for each product, as well as a number of supporting talent to be used across all three campaigns.
